Workshops are among REA’s most hands-on formats. They are usually led by one or several professionals and built around a specific subject – from underwriting and investment strategy to development, financing, valuation or a recent transaction.

Learning by working through it

Rather than simply listening to a presentation, members are expected to engage with the topic directly.

A workshop may involve analysing a deal, discussing a project, working through a model, comparing different strategies or solving a practical problem in smaller groups. The professionals leading the session guide the discussion, challenge assumptions and explain how similar decisions are approached in practice. Workshops can take place at a company’s office, on campus or in another dedicated setting, depending on the format and topic.

Closer to how the industry actually works

The value lies in the close interaction and practical challenge. Members get to test their thinking, ask detailed questions and understand how professionals approach real decisions. At the same time, firms get to see how participants think, communicate and work through a problem.

That makes workshops one of the best formats for turning theoretical knowledge into something much more practical.
