Universities
While Groningen is not one of the Netherlands’ largest institutional real estate markets, it is an important academic centre for the sector. The University of Groningen attracts highly motivated students through its specialised real estate programme, giving the chapter a strong foundation of members with relevant knowledge and a serious interest in investment, development, and the wider built environment.
Throughout the year, members take part in company visits, investment workshops, case studies, market discussions, and recruitment-focused formats. Given the concentration of major real estate firms elsewhere in the country, REA Groningen works particularly closely with REA Amsterdam and REA Rotterdam, giving members access to events and firms across the wider Dutch market.
The chapter therefore combines a strong local academic community with broader national industry access – allowing talented students in Groningen to build relationships and gain exposure well beyond their immediate market.
