REA New York recently joined J.P. Morgan at its headquarters for a session with Montserrat Serra, Managing Director and Global Head of Private Market Sales.

The conversation went well beyond an introduction to the firm. Montserrat shared her perspective on the growing role of private markets in real estate, how the industry is evolving, and where she sees some of its most interesting opportunities emerging.

The career lessons that matter

What made the session particularly valuable was how openly Montserrat spoke about the career behind it.

She discussed what it takes to build credibility early, perform in demanding environments and develop the energy, relationships and international perspective required to keep progressing. It was practical, candid and highly relatable – the kind of advice that is difficult to capture in a textbook or company presentation.

For our members, it was also a chance to ask questions directly and learn from someone operating at the highest level of an increasingly important part of the market.

A pretty good way to start the day

There is something different about spending a morning inside one of the world’s leading financial institutions, speaking directly with the people shaping the market and leaving with a much clearer sense of what is possible.

For REA New York, that is exactly the kind of exposure we want to create: access to exceptional people, honest conversations and a closer look at the careers and markets our members want to become part of.
