Section 01
Introduction
Welcome to REA Network. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your membership, use of REA's platform, and any interaction with REA Network ("REA", "we", "us", "our") and its affiliated local chapters worldwide. By joining REA or using any of its services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms in full.
REA is an international alliance of elite real estate student associations, operating across more than 50 cities and 150 universities globally. We serve as a community-driven talent platform, facilitating professional development, cross-border collaboration, and introductions between our members and the real estate industry's leading firms.
Please read these Terms carefully. If you do not agree with any part of them, you should not use REA's services or apply for membership.
Section 02
Membership
REA offers a single membership tier — Active Membership — which is open to students and young professionals at REA-affiliated universities and institutions. Active Membership is not purchased; it is granted on the basis of selection by the relevant local chapter board, in accordance with each chapter's criteria and capacity.
Active Members receive access to local and international events, real-world projects, industry workshops, cross-chapter initiatives, and REA's broader talent platform. Membership is typically aligned with an academic cycle and is contingent upon continued active contribution to the chapter's activities and mission.
Membership is a privilege, not a right. REA and its local boards reserve the right to decline or revoke membership at their discretion, including in cases of breach of the Code of Conduct or sustained inactivity.
Section 03
No Guarantee of Professional Outcomes
REA is a community and educational platform. While we work to create meaningful opportunities for our members, membership in REA does not constitute, imply, or guarantee any of the following:
- Employment, internship placement, or any specific professional outcome
- Introduction to any particular firm, investor, or industry professional
- A minimum number of events, workshops, or opportunities during any given cycle
- Access to any specific partner, project, or geographic market
- Continued availability of any benefit described at the time of joining
REA facilitates connections and creates platforms for professional development, but the outcomes of those interactions — including hiring decisions, partnership terms, or career progression — are entirely at the discretion of the relevant third parties. REA has no influence over, and accepts no responsibility for, the decisions or conduct of employers, firms, or other external parties.
Membership in REA is a contribution-based relationship. Members are expected to engage actively, contribute to their chapter, and approach REA's platform with a spirit of initiative — not as passive recipients of guaranteed career benefits.
Section 04
Talent Platform & Recruitment Facilitation
REA operates a talent platform through which members may be introduced to partner firms and employers in the real estate industry. By becoming a member and participating in REA's recruitment-related activities — including talent databases, career events, and firm presentations — you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Your profile, CV, and career information may be shared with REA partner firms for the purpose of facilitating introductions, subject to your consent and REA's Privacy Policy
- REA acts as a facilitator only and is not a party to any employment or contractual arrangement between you and a third-party firm
- REA does not guarantee that any introduction will result in an offer, interview, or engagement of any kind
- You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of any professional information you submit through REA's platform
- Partner firms engaging with REA's talent platform operate independently and are solely responsible for their own hiring decisions and processes
REA's talent facilitation activities are conducted on a global basis, and introductions may be made across different jurisdictions. Members should be aware that professional norms, legal frameworks, and recruitment practices may vary significantly by country.
Section 05
Code of Conduct
All REA members are required to comply with REA's Code of Conduct at all times, including during events, online interactions, cross-chapter collaborations, and when representing REA in any capacity — whether formally or informally.
The Code of Conduct sets out the standards of behaviour expected of all members with respect to professionalism, integrity, inclusivity, and respect for fellow members, partners, and external stakeholders. Breach of the Code of Conduct may result in suspension or permanent termination of membership without refund or compensation of any kind.
The full Code of Conduct is available at rea.network. By becoming a member, you confirm that you have read and accepted it.
Section 06
International Operations
REA operates globally, with chapters across Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa. These Terms apply to all members regardless of their country of residence or the chapter through which they are affiliated.
Local chapters may operate under additional or supplementary rules and norms that reflect the specific context of their institution, city, or jurisdiction. Where local chapter rules conflict with these Terms, REA's global Terms take precedence unless a specific written exception has been granted by REA's central governance.
Members participating in international events, cross-chapter programmes, or global board activities are responsible for complying with applicable local laws and regulations in the jurisdictions in which they operate. REA accepts no liability for members' failure to do so.
Section 07
Intellectual Property
All REA content, branding, logos, designs, educational materials, event frameworks, project templates, and proprietary methodologies are the exclusive intellectual property of REA Network. Nothing in these Terms grants members any right to use, reproduce, distribute, or commercialise REA's intellectual property without prior written consent.
Members may not represent themselves as acting on behalf of REA, use REA's branding, or make public statements attributed to REA without explicit authorisation from REA's central governance or the relevant local chapter board.
Any content, materials, or work product created by members in the context of REA projects or initiatives may be used by REA for internal or external purposes, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Section 08
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, REA Network shall not be liable for:
- Changes, cancellations, or modifications to events, programmes, or initiatives
- The unavailability of opportunities due to capacity, logistical, or seasonal constraints
- The conduct, decisions, or representations of any third party, including partner firms, employers, or event sponsors
- Any professional outcome — or lack thereof — arising from membership or participation in REA's activities
- Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages of any kind arising from or in connection with membership or use of REA's platform
- Interruptions to REA's digital services or platform due to technical issues, maintenance, or circumstances beyond REA's control
REA's total liability to any member for any claim arising under these Terms shall in no event exceed the amount, if any, paid by that member to REA in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Section 09
Amendments
REA reserves the right to amend, update, or replace these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be published on REA's website, and members will be notified of material changes via email where practicable. Your continued use of REA's services or participation in REA's activities following notification of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
If you do not agree with any amended Terms, you should cease participation in REA's activities and notify us accordingly.
Section 10
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Rotterdam, Netherlands, unless applicable mandatory law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.
